Root cause
I was there only for the job.
I was living in the UK. One evening I was at home, back from another day at the office. I had started to meditate, so I was giving myself more space to notice what I felt. And I realized that nothing kept me there apart from the job. No family. Friends, not that close. I could work remotely. I didn't have anything else apart from the job.
A friend told me about NLP. It had helped him a lot. He had a new job and he was happy. "I know you pretty well," he said. "I think you're in a good moment to give it a try."
The coach gave me space. I realized I get more power by moving from effect to cause. Then came the moment that really made it click.
I was stuck between career and stability. Both were driven by the same value: love. If I do the career for love, and the family for love, they can't be in conflict.
I'm an engineer. Analytical. I always thought I could analyze my way through anything, and I didn't believe in self-help. After my dad passed away, I learned that some things in life don't get better with more logic. Sometimes you accept them as they are, and let go.
You don't have to choose between ambition and belonging. Both parts can work together.
